The Smallest Shark
The Smallest Shark: Dwarf Lanternshark (Etmopterus perryi)
This 6-7 inch species of dogfish shark is native to a small area off the coasts of Colombia and Venezuela. These sharks have 2-3 pups per litter. The main threat to the species is thought to be bycatch. Being an understudied species, they are listed under the IUCN Red List as Data Deficient.
